Welcome to the Footy Facts and Tactics forum where all members can talk about anything and everything football related.
There are a few rules as you would expect with any forum and my rules for this forum are as follows:
1. No spam. All automated messages, advertisements, and links to competitor websites will be deleted immediately.
2. Post in relevant sub-forums only. Messages posted in the wrong topic area will be removed and placed in the correct sub-forum by moderators.
3. Respect other users. No flaming or abusing fellow forum members. Users who continue to post inflammatory, abusive comments will be deleted from the forum after two warnings are issued by moderators.
4. Harassment. No threats or harassment of other users will be tolerated. Any instance of threatening or harassing behaviour is grounds for deletion from the forums.
5. Adult content. No profanity or pornography is allowed. Posts containing adult material will be deleted.
6. Bandwidth. All images and signatures must be 500 x 500 pixels or smaller. Posts containing over-sized images and signatures will be removed.
7. Illegal content. No re-posting of copyrighted materials or other illegal content is allowed. Any posts containing illegal content or copyrighted materials will be deleted.
The difference between banter and bullying
One of the biggest challenges is the moderation of banter. Here at FFT I encourage banter - this is football. What is sometimes difficult is identifying where a particular post is banter or genuinely abusive. So, I will remind you of the following:
You have the option of reporting any post. In reality, very few users actually take the time to report a post they have found offensive for whatever reason and instead expect the me to find the offending post myself. Remember this site at the time of writing is a one man operation and I don't have the time to read every post. If you see a post you think breaches the the rules I have set out in any way, I need you to report it.
If you are subjected to personal attacks or abuse whatever it may be then please - report it. Your reports are anonymous. If you do not report it, I will assume that you have accepted that post as harmless banter even if it is subsequently reported by somebody else.
However, whilst we will accept banter, I will not tolerate the use of any language associated with homophobia, racism or the marginalisation of any group. So no, it's not okay to call your mate a poof even if it is intended as banter. If you see any such post I need you to report it.
What I don't want with this forum is members to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. The behaviour leading people to feel this way will not be accpeted.
Most of all have fun, with a bit of banter, keep it clean and lets build up a good community presence where we can all talk about the sport we love. I have also added another topic for non-related football content as well.
Keep calm, breathe football
Chris
