Brentford FC is a pro association football club based in Brentford, West London, England. They play in the Premier League, which is the top league in English football.

Known as "The Bees", the club was established in 1889 and used to play at Griffin Park until 2020 when they moved to the Gtech Community Stadium. Brentford started off playing as amateurs before joining the London League in 1896. They quickly climbed the ranks and secured a spot in the Southern League in 1898.


After winning the Southern League Second Division in 1900-01, Brentford was elected into the Football League in 1920. They have a rich history and are proud to represent their community on the football field.

Brentford had some great moments in English football history! They were champions in the Third Division South in 1932-33 and then went on to win the Second Division title in 1934-35. Their highest peak was reaching fifth place in the First Division in 1935-36. After a few ups and downs, they were crowned Fourth Division champions in 1962-63. They had some tough times with relegations in 1966 and 1973, but they kept fighting and even gained promotion in 1971-72. They spent 14 seasons in the Third Division after earning promotion in 1977-78 and eventually won the title in 1991-92. Even though they were relegated again in 1993, Brentford's history is full of proud moments and accomplishments.

  • 1889: The name "Brentford Football Club" was chosen by popular vote

  • 1904: Brentford settled into Griffin Park just in time for the start of the season, making it their very first permanent home

  • 1920: Brentford elected into the football league as founder members of the Third Division alongside 19 other clubs

  • 1926: Harry Curtis, Brentford's most successful manager is appointed

  • 1932: Brentford win the Third Division South title

  • 1935: Promoted to the 1st Division for the first time in clubs history

  • 2020: The Bees moved from Griffin park, into their new home, the Brentford Community Stadium

  • 2021: Promoted to the Premier League for the 1st time and in the top tier, for the first time in 72 years

  • 2024: Brentford are currently playing in the Premier League for the 3rd season in a row
